We’re studying, interpretating and adapting Ovid’s tale of ‘Tereus’ in Classics. I don’t know why but I felt like writing a musical interpretation of the horribly sad tale.

I haven’t written anything in over a year. Well anything I like.

I’ve hit limbo. Guilt overhangs. I feel ashamed for liking things that one might call ‘superficial’, before I watched that video. I don’t know what to do with this blog now, because majority of it is based on aesthetically pleasing pictures with the odd dicky anecdote. I’m not judging anyone who does. I just feel warped. I know I can’t save the whole world, and it’s not my personal responsibility or fault or ra ra ra but…I feel like I should be focusing my attention on ‘real’ things. I don’t know, I’m speaking out of my ass.

I just…I can’t shake this obsession with Latin American drug cartels. I can’t get off CNN…or any article I can get my hands on. Web pages, videos, documentaries, films, autobiographies have consumed me for the past week. I don’t know. Perhaps I am so intrigued, because I just can’t comprehend how inhumane those involved can be. Hmm.

This Is All Kinds Of Wrong of the Day: The Trayvon Martin gun-range target was bad enough. Then a bunch of white kids had to go and launch multiple #Trayvoning Facebook groups (that have since been removed).

Trayvoning is like Tebowing, except totally the opposite — white kids pose as a gunshot victim, wearing a hoodie, and holding Skittles and an iced tea, which is what Martin had on him when George Zimmerman shot him to death in February.

Facebook group members said they were merely combating “racism against whites”: “White people are becoming more and more oppressed.”

Damascus (Douma): May 17, 2012 - There are no ambulances to take the injured and dying, Assad’s has forbidden hospitals and doctors to treat those that his forces have wounded.

The only thing the people of Douma can do is take the bodies of the injured men and a small child and pile them into the back of a pick-up truck to take to a make-shift clinic with volunteer doctors.

I honestly cannot tell if most of the people are dead, dying or unconscious in this video. Assad’s blanket shelling of civilian homes is truly sickening, he does not care if he kills men, women or children.
